What is the Hazel Dormouse Surveying Workshop ?

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

Supported environmental field studies and conservation projects for young people and adults with learning difficulties.

Our Supported Hazel Dormouse Surveying Workshop has a few stages; this short video is a snippet from the stage where we learn about tracking tubes and their deployment.

The workshop starts by meeting and learning about the dormouse itself that we can choose the right location for the surveying work, then we learn about how to prepare and deploy the footprint tracking tubes that help to track the dormice whereabouts and the final stage is about scanning and reporting our findings to the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme.

Here is a video snippet from the footprint deployment stage.
